Yeah, that was a clip of Michelle Malkin, a republican extremist who is all about getting buzz. I'm sure Fox news and her planned the whole thing out as usual. I don't know if I'd say it was actually racist, but is definitely close:)
watching fox news gives me as much of a headache as commercials that get real loud when they come on. I will not have that channel played in my house, for I have young children, and I have a responsibility to raise then in a normal atmosphere.
All I see is "Baby Momma". Is that what you think is racist? So, if someone uses a colloquialism in any context, you automatically assume it's racist? So, Outkast can use it and it's okay. Fox News uses it and it's not. I have to say, I kind of think you guys are the racists here. Look up the term racism in a dictionary. Most likely it was in poor taste, but to call a thing like this racist is kind of racist because it belittles the people who the comment is being made about and makes the assumption that they need you to rescue them. Concentrate on real racism and hatred. Fox is ridiculous, it's true, but this is not racism and it's unfortunate that people don't understand the difference. Sad, really.
mjh, sad? Just a second while I shed a tear... Ok, I'm back. Genocides as well as racist policies throughout the ages have relied on assigning groups characteristics and spreading the belief that most members of that group possess said characteristic. For instance, Hitler portrayed jews as greedy. How is portraying Afro Americans as ebonics speaking, unmarried parents (the definition of "baby mama")not racism as well?
One of the definitions of racism (dictionary.com) is "hatred or intolerance of another race or other races." If this caption does not indicate intolerance, it's pretty da*n close.
I think the caption was citing others (liberals). Fox News didn't say it. Of course, I didn't see the clip, so I don't know the context (liberals are always complaining that conservatives don't put things in context enough).
It must be sad to see racism in nearly everthing that is said or commented on. If I say I am against illegal immigration, I'm a racist. If I make a comment that there is a problem in the black community with fatherless families, I must be a racist. It's so easy to try to shut out honest opinions if they don't agree with yours by using this label.
BTW, Malkin is very conservative, but I'd lose the extremist label; she's no Ann Coulter.
Robin, you're correct by stating that racism has been an influencing factor on history. It's still with many societies to the point of destroying those societies.
But we will never solve the challenges we face if we can't talk openly and honestly, but too many people in this country are so tied up in being PC, that we focus on the words and not the meaning.
Jeff, it's hard to understand your logic to cite Fox News as a progaganda machine. How about CBS as a propaganda machine for the Democratic party? Not a day goes by that the other networks don't do stupid things either.
I just felt the hate jump out of these comments. Where's the love?
Dude - yeah, seriously! How are they even considered a respectable news source? Or are they? It's not even 'news', but talking-points by pundits armed with a nefarious agenda. Pretty sad.
It's as if you can't even parody Fox News because it's already a joke. I've been meaning to see Outfoxed documentary, but I'm afraid that'll put me over the top. LOL
Saying that using the term 'Baby Momma' could result in the kind of genocide that the world has seen in numerous places in the last several thousands of years is not only irresponsible, but pointedly naive and just downright heartbreaking. Really, you're worse than Fox News!
MJH, I wasn't implying that this one little term could result in genocide. I was merely proving that my definition of racism is correct. To be honest, I didn't give this little blurb much thought at all, other than a chuckle at the stupidity of it, but apparently you did.

FOX News is a propaganda machine for the right wing fascist.
They don't even pretend to be fair and balanced most of the time.
Unfortunately, the Military Industrial Complex owns both McCain and Obama.
Jeff,
I know what you mean. Their slogan is a joke. Fair and balanced my ass!

I know, Tommy, and don't you just want to strangle Nancy Grace?
wow! Are you serious? Stoned? More like strung out on heroin!!! FOX sucks!

Shameful. But as far as racist comments go, this is probably not the worst they could come up with.
True, Lotus. I've seen worse.
are you sure that's not an onion video clip??
