Fill in the Blank Below:
Police Officer: "Mam, I need to see your driver's license."
Motorist: "I'm sorry, Officer, I left_______ at home.
a. it
b. them
I would choose a., but everyone I have ever met refers to a single license in the plural form. Why oh why?
This really bugs me. Please, someone tell me I'm not the only one!
Which one do you say?

Haha...I say it the correct way:
I left they at home.
That makes as much sense as 'them' I guess! Thanks for commenting.
It has to be A. "It" is not plural nor does it belong to a group of licenses. You only have one, right?
Thank you! Finally someone who can speak English!
